Montana Elevator #28

Painted all the month of November, these are a few of the new pieces. Have many more ideas for "car parts" and "montana elevators". I continue to investigate the possibilities of the media(house Paint), but even though I have bought 33 new canvases, I can't yet bring myself to use them in the carefree way I do illustration board.

Montana Elevator #15

A small (14"x22") piece with the ambition to say that "a couple of small ivory dabs could be elevators from a long way away". Is place and space as important as implied subject? Should there be "coffee rings" as in the other paintings? house paint thrown, brushed, dripped and rubbed on illustration board.

Montana Elevator #18

Really high horizon. In Japan I learned that what you leave basicly alone is as important as what you work on intently. I tried to show that here in the "empty" space in the foreground, leading up to the elevator in the distance. house paint applies by brush, stick, and drip to illustration board.

Montana Elevator #25

This changes everything, I have for a LONG time used my warm color scheme as the bases of my paintings. This piece uses Basalt and Ivory in a "monochromatic" fashion. A mood? A trick? I don't really know yet. house paint, 22"x28"

Montana Elevator #24

A high horizon and "sharp" brush marks creates what I think is an almost "other worldly" feeling. house paint, 22"x28"

Montana Elevator #21

This is a small piece (12 x 16) that I hope reduces the image almost to color-field, while retaining the illusion of great mass and size. house paint again.

Montana Elevator # 17

house paint on illustration board. Trying real hard to create a sense of space (depth) wo using diagonals, ie. making little stuff real big.
