ELEVATOR #7

This is the production of a couple of days in the studio, working on the Montana Elevator series. I am expierimenting with many grounds, some common, some expensive to see how the paint reacts and allows itself to be worked. This piece is acrylic latex on post consumer paper. I try to capture the " larger-than-life" feel of these structures and how they appear to be as castles in the wheat fields. More will follow

My first summer working on the neighbors farm - I was told to climb into a "Butler builbing" to level out the wheat so they could fill it to the top. When I yelled "full" they turned the grain auger back on and I found myself waist deep in wheat and chaff in every pore. I itches for a week!
