FLY FISHING MONTANA #1

Early spring, fine days got me thinking of fly fishing. A small series resulted, maybe more later. This image is of a creel, no one used them any more as no one keeps trout to eat any more. I do, from high mountain lakes an afternoon of fishing and I will keep 2 for my wife and I for dinner, in the creel, full of meadow grass and cool air and the fly box. Acylic latex on illustration board.

Beautiful colors, as always. It feels kind of refreshing and quiet at the same time... I think the only time I've felt that was up in Glacier, looking down on a far distant lake snuggled at the foot of the mountains. It was so remote, but I could see the wind blowing the water and imagined what it must be like to stand in a place so completely protected from the rest of the world...

That's what this painting made me think of, for some reason...
