Did alot of work over the holidays, these are a few pieces from late December. In the Elevator series, I had been very up close, now in these paintings, I step back and see the country side, put the works of man in context. Montana is sooo big, our works so small , but there none the less. Continue to enjoy the flow and feel of house paint, more color, but still very interested in value and shade. The works of man seem so small when put out on the high plains along side the great Missouri River, Even these great castles of elevators. What a big place Montana is, it takes my breath away! Acrylic Latex on illustration board 22 x 28"

This is a view of the Rocky Mountain Front, that special place where the mountains meet the plains. Man's hand is evident in the fore and middle ground, but wilderness shows up in the background. Food for the body and food for the soul. Acrylic latex on illustration board. 22 x 28"

Painted all the month of November, these are a few of the new pieces. Have many more ideas for "car parts" and "montana elevators". I continue to investigate the possibilities of the media(house Paint), but even though I have bought 33 new canvases, I can't yet bring myself to use them in the carefree way I do illustration board.

A small (14"x22") piece with the ambition to say that "a couple of small ivory dabs could be elevators from a long way away". Is place and space as important as implied subject? Should there be "coffee rings" as in the other paintings? house paint thrown, brushed, dripped and rubbed on illustration board.
